This pizza was solid! Ordered out and service was quick! The sauce was a bit overpowering, would order light sauce next time.

Didn't know there was a beer garden in the back. Such a nice spot in Evanston for the community to enjoy. Great service and excellent Detroit style pizza. The pepperoni and sausage was an awesome pick because although filled with meat had plenty of veggies in there too. The chopped salad was good too. Enough to share with our party of 3 plus the pizza. Would definitely come here again!

This place is so $&#%ing good. I would eat here all the time, but I live in Chicago and only come every once in a while. I'm a native Detroiter and this place is some of the best Detroit style pizza in Illinois / Chicago.

I got carryout here, but thought I would still give it a rating because I thought this place was excellent with just a few hiccups. I ordered the pizzas online for later pickup. The ordering online went generally well, but I kind of wished that there was a better way to just order a custom pizza. I know I could have probably called in, but I used the online tool and got what I wanted: Simple Peperoni Pizza and a Simple Sausage (this is the one I had to trick the system). Anyway, picking up the pizza went perfectly which was awesome. It was ready on time and the pickup was seamless. No notes here. Just perfect. How as the pizza? I have had Detroit Style Pizza before and this was my absolute favorite. I think they might use better cheese and/or better sauce than a normal Detroit Style Pizza. The only downside I would say is the cost. These pizzas are quite expensive. Still, I mentioned that they were the best Detroit Style I have ever eaten so that sticker shock was short lived. If you make a pizza like this, I could see you charging a little more. This also seems to be a bit of a small Evanston business so its always nice to support them! In short, expect to pay a little more than you want, but you will get a pizza much better than you expected!

Unlike its sister venue this is strictly a pizza joint with drinks. And the pizza is Detroit style ie square hence the name. It's deep dish light. Nice crusty edges but not thick doughy crust. It's definitely a place to go if you're hungry. Huge portions except for the drinks. Service is amateur. Servers don't know how to check the room before they leave. Just basic front of the house training. Missing. And irritating. We had the sausage pepperoni pizza. Fresh tomatoes sauce generous cheese.

UPDATE: Shoutout to the kind server who noticed I left my favorite lipstick at the table and ran it out to me before I could leave. 100/10 stars. I cannot BELIEVE how good this pizza is. I haven't been able to eat Detroit style pizza for more than six years due to food allergies. Union Squared has not only gluten free crust but also DAIRY FREE CHEESE!! This midwestern pizza-monger was DEEPLY happy eating an entire GF DF Godfather pizza packed with mini pepperonis and sausage. Absolutely no regrets. On top of it all, service was kind, casual, and engaging and the back patio made for a cool, shaded Saturday night dinner. Can't wait to come back here again.
